Colombia Travel Bucket List

MY TRAVEL EXPERIENCE
Barichara, Santander, was one of the most magical places I ever visited, not only for its culture and landscapes, but also for the tranquility that each cobblestone street used to convey. It is recognized as a national monument and a heritage site of Colombia thanks to its perfectly preserved colonial architecture. There, you must try cultural activities, taste its varied traditional cuisine, and visit artisan workshops. If you go to the viewpoints, you will have to take pictures because the landscapes are unforgettable.
The places you can visit in Barichara include the viewpoint, the House of Culture, and El Salto del Mico. When we went there, we used to walk around the streets before heading to these spots. You must not miss the viewpoint, as it offers a breathtaking landscape. If you visit the House of Culture, you will learn about local traditions. In Barichara, if you walk through the town (zero conditional), you find colonial architecture everywhere. You don’t have to spend much money to enjoy the peaceful atmosphere, but you would like to stay longer because there are many activities.
WHAT TO DO?
The most important thing we did when we traveled was buying souvenirs, and we used to visit small shops for that. You must try the local food such as tamales, arepas, mute, and sancocho. If you eat traditional food (zero conditional), you understand more about the culture. You have to walk along the Camino Real, where you will discover hidden attractions and natural views. If you don’t take this path, you will miss one of the most special experiences.
TRAVEL TIPS

WHERE TO GO?

For every trip, you should bring comfortable clothes, especially good shoes for walking. You must remember to take sunscreen, and an essential tip is to carry cash. Finally, and most importantly, you should always have bottles of water with you. If you forgot these things, your trip would be more difficult.
